The Eagles improved their region record to 2-1 with a hard fought victory over the Coffee Co. Trojans by a score of 17-14. Seniors Tobias Oliver and Desean Dinkins led a balanced rushing attack, and Dinkins caught a touchdown pass from Oliver to lead the offense. On defense, Kam Burnette and Isaiah Nelson each had 11 tackles, and Alijah McGhee had a big interception. After a Coffee field cut the Northside lead to three with 8:13 left in the game, the Eagles went on a 16 play drive before losing a fumble on the Coffee 1 yard line with only 30 seconds left in the game. The Northside defense held for the final 30 seconds and the Eagles escaped with the victory and now prepare for a huge showdown next week against the Houston Co. Bears.
