The Eagles hit the road again on Friday night to travel to Evans, GA near Augusta to take on Lakeside in their first region contest of the season. The Eagle defense dominated the game the entire night in posting a shutout and picking off four Panther passes and returned 3 for touchdowns in the 56-0 victory. The Panthers did not record a first down until their 8 possession of the game with three minutes left before halftime.



The Panthers won the toss and elected to receive the kickoff. Isaac Rivera put the kickoff into the endzone for a touchback. Rivera place 6 of his 7 kickoff into the endzone on the night. On the first play from scrimmage, the Panthers tried to catch the Eagles off guard with a double-reverse pass that was picked off by Marquez Moore who returned the pick 55 yards for a touchdown. Rivera’s PAT gave Northside all the points they would need on the night with 18 seconds elapsed in the game. Two and a half minutes later, senior Curtis Martin scored from 2 yards out and Rivera’s PAT made the score 14-0. With 2:37 left in the first quarter, Darius Holmes picked off another Lakeside pass and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown. The PAT made the score 21-0. With 9:42 left in the second, Keshun Hill scored on an 11 yard run. Rivera’s PAT pushed the score to 28-0. Nine seconds later, Holmes picked off his second pass of the game and returned it 23 yards for another touchdown. The Rivera PAT made the score 35-0. With 4:54 left before halftime, Hill scored his second rushing touchdown from 5 yards out and with Rivera’s PAT made the halftime score 42-0.



Four minutes into the third quarter, Martin scored his second rushing touchdown on the night, this time from 10 yards out. Rivera’s final PAT in the game made the score 49-0. The Eagles final points on the night came with 4:17 left in the third quarter when A.J. Booker scored on an 8 yard touchdown run. John Tignor kicked the PAT for the Eagles for the final score of 56-0. The 4-0 Eagles take on county rival the Houston Co. Bears next week in their second region contest of the season.
