THE Northside defeated the visiting Patriots from Northside-Columbus by a score of 45-10 to run their record to 9-0 on the season. The Eagles started quickly in the first quarter when Miguel Williams blocked a Patriot punt and Chris Vickers scooped it up and ran one yard for a touchdown after the Eagle defense forced a 3&Out on the first possession of the game. Dillon Mixon’s PAT made the score 7-0. With 2:09 left in the first quarter, Stephon Cross scored on a 3 yard TD run; Mixon’s PAT the score 14-0. The Patriots responded with a touchdown and field goal in the second quarter to cut the Eagles lead to 14-10, but this would be the last time the Patriots would get on the scoreboard for the night. With 4:06 left in the second quarter, Shaquille O’Neill ran in from 1 yard out and Mixon’s kick made the halftime score 21-10.

Just 1:10 into the third quarter, Briar Van Brunt scored on a 43 yard touchdown run, and O’Neill added another rushing touchdown (2 yards) with 1:24 left in the third to increase the Eagle lead. Mixon converted both PATs to increase the Eagle lead to 35-10 entering the final quarter. Two and half minutes into the fourth quarter, the Eagle defense forced a Patriot fumble in their own endzone which was recovered by sophomore Trey Payne for a touchdown. Isaac Rivera converted the PAT to make the score 42-10. Dillon Mixon put the final points on the board with 5:46 left in the game when he drilled a 22 yard field goal for the final score of 45-10 to essentially clinch the region championship for the Eagles.
